UniSeeds Inc. of Ontario is to distribute Silesia, a new dual-cropping hemp variety, under an agreement with InnoTech Alberta. InnoTech said the variety has been in development for 12 years. A subsidiary of provincial funding agency Alberta Innovates, UniSeeds said Silesia “is ideal for Canadian growing conditions and offers the agriculture sector exceptional fiber production and seed-quantity compared to other cultivars.” Silesia is approved by Health Canada. The distribution agreement begins commercialization of the variety.
