Colorado-based Paragon Processing said it will take on 250 workers as it opens an industrial-scale hemp processing facility near Colorado City in the south central part of the state.

Paragon said it has a target to process 2 million pounds of hemp biomass with this year’s harvest, which runs through November.

The company offers services in extraction, distillation, isolation, THC-free processing, sales, storage and third-party testing, as well as private- and white-label goods.

‘One-stop shop’

In a press release, Paragon Co-President Matt Evans called the company a “one-stop-shop partnership for clients, whether they are farmers seeking assistance, new companies testing an idea or an established business seeking to strengthen its production practices and/or product lines.”

Centered around proprietary processing technology for cryo-ethanol extraction and three-stage molecular distillation, the facility can turn out CBD distillate, THC-free distillate, CBD isolate, CBG, CBN and CBD-infused products, Paragon said.

The 250,000 sq. ft. factory is in former industrial space on 38 acres, 140 miles south of Denver. Storage capacity is up to 50 million pounds of hemp biomass, and the facility has 13 dock loading positions.
