Carl Martel – Carl, founder at Advanced Hemp Technologies, has been researching industrial cannabis since 2010. Formally trained as a geo-archaeologist with degrees in Interdisciplinary Science, he has worked with a number of hemp companies across Canada, the United States and Australia. Co-inventor of a grain disinfection system deployed in Canada and Australia, he continues to explore and develop grain quality post-harvest management technology. Carl’s focus recently has been on value added products from agricultural waste such as carbon foam for insulation, water filtration/desalination and energy storage systems.
Boaz Wachtel – Boaz is Executive Chairman and CEO at Israel-based Roots Sustainable Agricultural Technologies Ltd. (Roots), which recently entered the plant-based meat business, and has established a new department specifically for the emerging sector. He is also chairman at publicly traded nutraceuticals maker CresoPharma; a co-founder at rootssat.com, the developer of root zone heating and cooling technology; and was co-founder and former managing director of MMJ Phytotech, Australia’s first publicly traded medical cannabis company. A long-time cannabis activist, Boaz was also a co-founder of the International Medical Cannabis Patient Coalition (IMCPC)
Daniel Kruse – German entrepreneur Daniel Kruse recently marked his 25-year anniversary in industrial hemp. He is the founder of Hempro International GmbH, a vertically integrated, Düsseldorf-based producer and wholesaler of hemp food products and raw materials, textiles, accessories and cosmetics. HempConsult GmbH, his independent consulting firm, advises entrepreneurs, start-ups, investors and other industry stakeholders worldwide. Kruse is also a principal and takes active roles in HANF FARM, a farming and food company; cannabinoids producer MH medical hemp; and Hemp Factory, a solar powered food factory. He has been president of the European Industrial Hemp Association since 2019, and has served on the EIHA board of directors since 2013.
Hana Gabrielova – Hana, founder and CEO at Czech-based Hempoint, is one of Europe’s pioneering and most innovative hemp entrepreneurs and a widely recognized expert on agricultural issues related to hemp and food. Her company, which marked its 10-year anniversary this year, consults with farmers on hemp cultivation, and is an organic hemp food producer. Hana is active in several initiatives dedicated to the environmental aspects of hemp and its potential in green transition and the bio-economy.
Nando Knodel & Tim Künzel – Nando and Tim are co-founders at HempConnect, a German startup that is developing tools to quantify CO2 sequestration. HempConnect offers cultivation advice, data collection and market analyis in regenerative agriculture, and promotes industrial hemp as an ecological raw material of the future. Tim is a trained optician in the fourth generation of a family business, has a Bachelor of Science degree in business psychology and is an organizational psychologist and systemic coach. Nando holds a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in business administration from the University of Hamburg with a focus on media and corporate governance. During a year abroad in Japan, he explored business ethics and inclusive economics. His master’s thesis examines industrial hemp from a financial and economic perspective. He was a research assistant in the Global Social Entrepreneurship department at Kyoto University.
Marijn Roersch van der Hoogte – Founder at MRHemp, Berlin, Marjin is a qualified biologist with a minor in entrepreneurship. His hemp career began in 2014 at the Hemp Museum in Berlin, which later led to a successful crowdfunding campaign in partnership the hemp building materials processor Hanffaser Uckermark eG. After a stint with Hanffaser as a buyer of hemp raw materials and coordinator for cultivation and farming partnerships, Marijn founded MRHemp in 2019 to support the cultivation and use of hemp, focusing on agriculture, logistics and trade. He is currently Vice President and Departmental Coordinator for Industrial Hemp & Food at Germany’s Cannabis Business Industry Association (BvCW).
Jacek Kramarz – One of Europe’s leading hemp entrepreneurs, Jacek previously was Director of Business Development at CBD maker HemPoland, and is a past member of the board at the European Industrial Hemp Association. Under his leadership, HemPoland’s blue-chip CannabiGold brand quickly worked its way into the leading ranks of European CBD makers. Jacek played a key role when HemPoland was acquired by now parent company The Green Organic Dutchman (TGOD) of Canada in 2018. A licensed securities broker, he previously worked in management consulting in Vienna where he coordinated international projects tackling complex changes in company ownership and restructuring.
Robin Destiche – Robin is Operations Manager at Czech-based legacy hemp company Hempoint s.r.o., a cultivation seed broker and vertically integrated hemp company that recently marked its 10-year anniversary. His current portfolio includes seed sales, decortication, product development, and partnerships for seed multiplication. He also leads the Tea Infusion unit at Hempoint, which is a leading European supplier of organic hemp teas. Prior to joining Hempoint, Robin was Business Management Director at U.S. Hemp Brokerage. His past experience includes work in executive leadership in the hospitality industry in the USA.
Kehrt Reyher [Summit Host] – Kehrt is founder of HempToday, and co-founder of The Nakło Foundation, which supports environmental protection, entrepreneurship and green industry. Kehrt is founder and past President, CEO and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VFP Communications, Warsaw, a B2B media company. A former European Bureau Chief for Smart Grid Today, he previously worked in the USA at The Providence Journal, The Detroit News and USA Today.
