ONE PLANT, a documentary about hemp’s potential to address a wide range of pressing global challenges, reached its fundraising goal on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform, and will now move into final production phases, according to Jordan Berger of Sunflower Films.
Berger said editing is expected to wrap up by February, after which the film will be submitted to major film festivals. A premiere event for supporters is planned for spring, with full release in the second half of 2025.
Late rally
Sunflower surpassed its $65,000 goal to reach $65,700 before the campaign ended in November. “We had an awesome rally over the last few days to get us over the finish line!,” Berger said.
A total of 176 supporters contributed to the campaign. Donations are still being accepted on Kickstarter.
“Our film showcases the seemingly endless possibilities of the plant from building your house and the car you drive, to treating a host of ailments and diseases through interaction with our own body’s endocannabinoid system,” said Berger, a writer and director who founded Sunflower Films.
