Canadian-based boutique guitar maker JOI Guitars has introduced an acoustic guitar made of hempwood. The company said it undertook extensive research and development that allowed it to make the guitar’s body, neck and headstock from the composite material. The final material integrates carbon fiber and Kevlar for reinforcement. JOI also developed new flexing and sanding processes to strengthen the instrument’s structure.
