California hemp program $2 million in hole

The California (USA) Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) said the state’s hemp program has hit a $2 million deficit and continues to bleed money. CDFA said the shortfall is due to declining income from registrations for the industry-funded program after a disastrous hemp crop in 2019.
