Hemp licensees appear to be dipping sharply in Wisconsin, where numbers are down significantly for both growers and processors, state agriculture officials said. So far for the upcoming growing season, only 340 growers applied for licenses, down from 1,301 in 2020. The number of processing license applications fell from 619 in 2020 to just 248 so far this year. Agriculture officials said applications are still being accepted for the 2021 season. Agriculture Secretary-designee Randy Romanski said while the CBD sector has developed in Wisconsin, the state has yet to develop in other hemp supply chains.
