Zambia’s Cabinet has introduced two cannabis measures in the Parliament. The Industrial Hemp Bill, 2021 would set up licensing for farming, processing, storage, import/export and distribution of hemp, and provide for regulation of hemp research. A second measure, The Cannabis Bill, 2021, would establish a similar framework for marijuana for medicinal, scientific and research purposes. The government said both sectors could be a boon to Zambia’s economy.
