1999: Selling to a skeptical hemp industry

Celebrating Hemp History Month – WINTER 1999: Only 20 years ago, I actually had to sell the notion of shelled hempseed as food to a skeptical hemp industry, as well as the general public and trade. I wasn’t promoting just a product as much as my vision of hempseed as food capable of replacing soybean, which today is 90% of Canadian hemp. Moving hemp from 10,000 years of a fiber focus to in 1996 seed as a mainstream food was a revolution I call “Hemp 2.0.” Hats off to Hemp Times for giving the idea a voice. – Richard Rose (more)
