The Australian Industrial Hemp Association (AIHA) will study a wide range of hemp projects with funding from AgriFutures, a government agency. Several AIHA subcommittees are playing key roles in the hemp initiatives, with universities and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) also supporting the projects. AIHA’s strategic plan calls for initiatives in agronomy, seed certification, hemp building materials, feedstock for animals, hemp food, carbon sequestration, processing, environmental impact and hemp as a plastic substitute.
