A New York company is taking the Washington County, New York sheriff to court, accusing the agency of illegally destroying more than 250 industrial hemp research plants. Toadflax Nursery, based in South Glens Falls, has a state license to grow the plants, which the company said were tagged with identification the owners and the state license. The sheriff’s department destroyed the plants last year.
