New Zealand pharma company Rua Bioscience said it has received a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification from Medsafe, the medicines and medical devices safety authority that is a part of the New Zealand Ministry of Health. Rua said the certification will let it begin to make its first medicinal cannabis product, a CBD oil. The company will now submit a New Medicinal Cannabis Product Application to the Medicinal Cannabis Agency, which will undertake an assessment against Minimum Quality Standards. Rua Bioscience, based in Tairāwhiti, is listed on the NZX, New Zealand’s national stock exchange.
