New Frontier Data (Frontier Financial Group Inc.) purchased Hemp Business Journal, the Washington, D.C.-based big data shop announced.

“We are beginning to understand the full extent of the opportunity presented by hemp not only nationally, but worldwide,” said CEO Giadha Aguirre de Carcer of New Frontier Data, which has focused mainly on investment research around the burgeoning marijuana industry.

Hemp Business Journal, based in Denver, Colorado, USA, started in 2014 and was later financed by accelerator Canopy Boulder, also of Colorado. The price of the transaction was not disclosed. The partners are consolidating at New Frontier’s offices in Denver.

Other firms in the cannabis research space are Brightfield Group, Tampa, Florida, USA, which sells reports on CBD along with North American and international reports on the marijuana sectors; and Arcview Group, San Francisco, which sells primarily marijuana analysis and data.
