Special Report: Hemp & Sustainability

This report offers an evidence-based evaluation of hemp’s environmental performance across its full lifecycle, from cultivation through processing, manufacturing, distribution, and end-of-life disposal or recycling. A literature review of peer-reviewed research, government reports, and life cycle assessment (LCA) models allow for a critical and objective examination of hemp’s environmental impacts. The report evaluates four key areas critical for hemp to be considered sustainable: carbon sequestration, soil health, water use, and full lifecycle performance.
