Tribe plants $100k investment in hemp jobs

The White Earth Indian Reservation in northwestern Minnesota says it’s invested $100,000 in a hemp crop this year with plans to harvest for fiber that will go into building materials. The Native American reservation is the largest in Minnesota. White Earth received one of 42 certificates to grow hemp in Minnesota, where permission for a total 2,000 acres was sought this year. Seed came from Canada and Europe.
