Canadian firm eyes hemp building materials

Just BioFiber Structural Solutions, Calgary, Canada has received funds to purchase and install a commercial-scale plant to turn hemp stalks into building material.The funding is under the federal and Alberta governments, which are investing about $5 million to help five Calgary-area agro-processing firms.

Hempitecture (USA) and partner Idaho BaseCamp, opened the first public use building made from hempcrete in Ketchum, Idaho.

PENNIES: Corix Bioscience Inc. said it signed an agreement with Positively Green Organics LLC. for the resale of up to 22,000 pounds of industrial hemp per month. PGO grows hemp for CBD on 160 acres near Carson City, Nevada. The company said it expects $575 per pound at retail. . . . We just came across this response by C.V. Sciences to the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission’s recently filed fraud suit against the company (formerly CannaVest) and its CEO Michael Mona. It’s from June 19, 2017.
