Washington Legislature Overrides Guv’s Veto

The Washington State Legislature has overturned Gov. Jay Inslee’s veto, effectively making hemp cultivation legal for research purposes under state guidance. Under Senate Bill 6206, the Washington State Department of Agriculture is to authorize select farmers to grow hemp for analysis. The measure had passed the State Senate by a 48-1, and the House by a 97-0 vote before Inslee vetoed the measure two weeks ago.
