The council in Italy’s Basilicata region said it will set up a working group to implement a 2018 law aimed at advancing industrial hemp. Local representatives of the Five Star Movement political party urged the council to ensure the law “does not remain only good intentions to be left in the annals of the official regional bulletins.” The working group is to be made up of representatives of the University of Basilicata, the Lucana Agency for Development and Innovation in Agriculture, and hemp producers. Basilicata is located in the arch of Italy’s “boot.”
