Hemp initiatives in construction materials and animal medicine received grants from the state of Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. The School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania received ~$14,000 for a study of cannabinoids in bovine serum and hemp seed, and Coexist Build, an architecture and construction company, received $4,500 for a project in regenerative farming for hemp-based construction. The awards were part of a total $1.3 million in agricultural research grants given to advance innovation in medicine, sustainability of water and soil, and a safe food supply.
