Utah hemp producers must now apply for hemp permits under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) as the state reminded this week it is no longer be responsible for licensing hemp growers and processors. There is no fee for the USDA permits, but licensees must pay $18 for an FBI Identity Summary Check that requires fingerprinting. Other requirements for processing, product and retail licenses will not change, UDAF said.
