The Alaska Senate has approved a bill to establish a state hemp program to supplant a pilot program in effect since 2018. Proponents say the bill will open up more business opportunities by broadening interstate commerce of Alaska-grown and manufactured hemp products. The bill, unanimously passed by the Senate, now moves to the state’s House of Representatives for consideration.
