The Midwest Hemp Council (USA) and the Indiana Farmers Union will host a Fiber Forum & Field Day on Aug. 30 in Martinsville, Indiana that will look at how hemp fits into that state’s agriculture. Learning stations will be set up on a number of topics including the agronomics of hemp production; pests affecting hemp; how hemp is harvested and post-harvest preparation; decortication and other processing steps; and novel and traditional applications of hemp fiber. A morning session runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and an afternoon session is set for 12:30 – 4:00 p.m. Each session is limited to 50 guests. Admission is $25 for Midwest Hemp Council members and $50 for non-members. The registration deadline is Tuesday, August 24.
