Coronavirus causes postponement of European hemp events

Two key European hemp events have fallen victim to the global coronavirus pandemic. The 9th International Hemp Building Symposium and Spannabis, the giant Spanish cannabis expo which also features industrial hemp, both announced scheduling changes this week.

The Hemp Building Symposium has been rescheduled to Sept. 15-17, 2020 at the previously announced venue, Hornington Manor in Yorkshire, UK.

“We have never experienced a similar situation but due to the rapid spread of the Covid-19, our responsibility is to prioritize the health and safety of our delegates and speakers,” said Steve Allin, IHBA’s Director. “We also want to provide delegates and speakers enough time to rework their schedules and plan accordingly for the newly announced September dates.” IHBA is offering refunds for delegate fees.

Spannabis was postponed to autumn 2020 after authorities banned large public gatherings in Spain. The event gathers as many as 25,000 visitors annually.
