INTERVIEW: Lawrence Serbin, President of Hemp Traders and longtime industry leader, reflects on more than 30 years in hemp. Speaking at the NIHC Global Industrial Hemp Fiber Summit at North Carolina State University’s Wilson College of Textiles, Serbin traces his journey from early advocacy with the Business Alliance for Commerce and Hemp (BACH) to importing some of the first hemp fabrics from China in the 1990s. He discusses the foundations of today’s hemp textile market, the role of early pioneers in shaping the industry, and the continuing need for advocacy and education to advance hemp’s future.
