Indian hemp entrepreneur Sanvar Oberoi is a speaker at this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit at the invitation of the U.S. White House. Oberoi is finance director at BOHECO, a Mumbai-based hemp company started by seven friends in 2013.
This year’s Summit, the seventh annual, is set at Stanford University beginning tomorrow. The event is backed by the governments of the USA, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Morocco, and Kenya.
In addition managing the firm’s finances, Oberoi also oversees BOHECO’s technology. He previously worked at Deloitte, where he provided advisory and consulting on corporate design restructuring, risk management and big data analytics to a wide range of Fortune 500 companies. He also previously led market research and strategy at FoxyMoron, Mumbai, a Digital and New media firm, and was co-founder of The Thincquisitive Foundation, a youth oriented not-for-profit platform.
He is currently a Ph.D. research scholar in business economics at the University of Mumbai where he is studying the economic significance of industrial hemp to Indian agronomy.
