Reps from 10 countries will talk CBD at HT’s August biz meet-up

Health care needs to eschew a high-tech approach and go beyond the treatment of symptoms to attack the causes of chronic diseases rooted in current lifesyles. That’s the message Paulius Jaruševičius, Founder and Chairman of the Lithuania-based Lifestyle Medicine Association will bring to “The Future of Medical Hemp,” an international industry summit and networking event focused on CBD that is set Aug. 24-25 at HempToday Center in Poland.

How phytocannabinoids work

Jaruševičius’ presentation, “How phytocannabinoids work together with lifestyle change” will explore how lifestyles induce changes in gene expression, which is closely related to the human endocannabinoid system.

Representatives from Ireland, Italy, Germany, China, Greece, Poland, USA, Lithuania, Israel and the Czech Republic are already signed on to attend the Summit. Participants have the option of making a 15-minute presentation about their companies, startups or business plans.

Other featured speakers for the two-day event are:

Boaz Wachtel, Chairman & co-founder, CresoPharma, a nutraceuticals company traded on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) since autumn 2016. Wachtel was co-founder and former managing director of MMJ Phytotech, Australia’s first publicly traded medical cannabis company. He is also the co-founder of the International Medical Cannabis Patient Coalition (IMCPC).

Joscha Krauss, CEO MH medical hemp GmbH, Germany, which makes CBD and just released a new line of CBD-infused cosmetics. Krauss is active worldwide in the areas of medicinal cannabis and CBD. He holds an M.S. in ecology, and is a master class graduate at Dutch medicinal hemp producer Bedrocan, where he studied cannabis cultivation and cannabinoid extraction.

Jacek Kramarz, Chief of Sales, HemPoland, maker of CannabiGold, which has quickly worked its way into the leading ranks of global CBD purveyors. Kramarz previously worked in management consulting in Vienna where he coordinated international projects tackling complex changes in company ownership and restructuring. He is also a licensed securities broker.

Dr. Pavel Kubu, M.D., Founder & CEO, International Cannabis and Cannabanoid Institute (ICCI) and chairman of the Ethical Commission at the Czech National Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Abuse. Kubu is also a founding member of the International Medical Cannabis Patient Coalition.

Jarosław Szulfer, PhD, who is co-founder of HemPoland. He has 10+ years experience in R&D and was formerly laboratory head at one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in Poland. Szulfer is an expert in extraction, chromatography & cannabinoids, and holds his doctoral degree is in pharmaceutical studies.

Kehrt Reyher, (Host & Moderator) Founder of HempToday, and co-founder of The Nakło Foundation, which supports environmental protection, entrepreneurship and green industry thought leadership globally; and historical preservation, economic development and tourism at the local level. Kehrt is founder and past President, CEO and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VFP Communications, a Warsaw-based B2B media company. A former European Bureau Chief for Smart Grid Today, he previously worked in the USA at The Providence Journal, The Detroit News and USA Today.

The Future of Medical Hemp” is one in a series of four summits held annually at the HempToday Center of Excellence in south-central Poland that look at different applications for industrial hemp.
