Italian entrepreneur Rachele Invernizzi, president at SouthHemp, has joined the board of directors of the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA). She was installed during the Association’s bi-annual meeting held earlier this week in Cologne, and fills an empty position created when Olivier Joreau, CAVAC Biomateriaux, France, stepped down from the board.

Invernizzi is founder and president at Crispiano, Taranto-based SouthHemp, a vertically integrated hemp enterprise that embraces some 250 farms in south Italy; the company’s processing factory turns out a wide range of raw materials that Italian hemp entrepreneurs are turning into food, paper, building materials, filaments for 3D hemp printing and other end-use products. She is also a founder of Federcanapa, the Italian hemp federation, organizer of the Milan-based Salone Internazionale Della Canapa annual exposition.

Other current EIHA board members are Mark Reinders, EIHA President, HempFlax B.V., Holland; Philippe Heusele, EIHA Deputy President, InterChanvre, France; Bernd Frank, EIHA Treasurer, BaFa Neu GmbH, Germany;  Daniela Sfrija, Canah Int., Romania; Boris Baňas, The Hemp Cooperative, Slovakia; and Daniel Kruse, Hempro Int., GmbH & Co. K.G., Germany.
