South Carolina’s hemp farming program needs more laboratories to keep up with testing, state officials said. Many companies must send samples to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), which is experiencing backlogs. The state said a bigger SLED lab is under construction. The number of hemp licenses in South Carolina jumped from 20 to 100 last year.
